Project challenge
A commercial interior needed the warmth of a wood-look finish with clean panel alignment and controlled edges.
Installed solution
3M DI-NOC architectural film was applied to create a natural panel appearance with clean transitions and a controlled finish.
Site Context
Architectural film projects depend on substrate condition, corners, edges, lighting, and whether the surface can accept a clean wrap.
Installation Focus
The install focused on surface readiness, direction of grain, edge control, and a realistic wood-look presentation.
Result
The space gained a warmer architectural finish with a clean, controlled installed surface.
Planning wood-grain film around edges and panel breaks
This Beltline office project used 3M DI-NOC architectural film for a wood-look finish. For a new wrap, the useful starting point is the existing surface and its edges, not just a preferred colour. These checks help define the scope before material is ordered.
Document the existing finish
Photograph the full surface, corners and any chips or lifted coatings. Name the substrate if known. A decorative wrap is not a substitute for repairing a damaged or unstable base.
Choose a grain direction
Indicate which way the grain should run and show adjacent panels together. Include doors, joints and hardware so the design can account for visible breaks rather than treating every panel as an isolated rectangle.
Agree on edge treatment
Show returns, exposed ends and tight recesses in the quote photos. Ask which areas are included, where seams may sit and whether hardware removal is needed; do not assume a flat-face price includes every return.
